On the morning of November 27, Professor Adam Wheeler (Executive Vice President of University of Southampton), Bashir Makhoul (Dean of Winchester School of Art) and Mark Cranshaw (Dean of Confucius Institute and Director of Contemporary Chinese studies Center) visited our college. Professor Zheng Tongtao (Dean of Overseas Education College and The International College), Huang Guanhua (Office Director), Yang Xu (English teacher), Su Jin (Project Director) and Chen Jianru (Project Secretary) met with them in room 1601 of Tan Kah Kee main building on Si Ming campus.

In the hope of further enhancing communication and cooperation between both sides, Professor Zheng Tongtao granted Makhoul the letter of appointment as the visiting professor of The International College and Overseas Education College. Professor Zheng also proposed that University of Southampton could set up a language training center in Xiamen and this proposal was welcomed by Professor Adam. Adam believed a language training center would promote the international communication of University of Southampton.

In the afternoon, both sides discussed the plan to cooperate in the 4+0 program of double art degree and exchanged views about curriculum setting and cooperation model. Both sides also agreed to renew the contract of 2+2 cooperative art program.
